It has been over a year since the launch of ST-1 and ST-2. Based on extensive user feedback and comments from various major groups and forums, we have decided to revise the materials used in ST-1 and ST-2.
The primary change involves switching the raw material supplier from Dongli to BASF. Overall, the difference between BASF and Dongli materials is not substantial. The main subtle distinctions are that Dongli offers a softer feel, closer to natural animal hair, while BASF provides stronger elasticity. Currently, aside from OUMO, almost all top-tier synthetic fibers on the market use BASF materials.
There are two reasons for this revision. Firstly, we want to offer everyone more choices in terms of experience. Secondly, the price of Dongli raw materials has remained high, so switching is also a necessary step for us to balance costs.
Therefore, we will name the new versions of ST-1 and ST-2 as ST-1B and ST-2B, where "B" stands for the BASF version. All key parameters will remain consistent; however, due to the difference in raw material particles, there will still be variations in actual performance, which we invite everyone to experience for themselves upon release.
ST-1B and ST-2B are scheduled to be listed for sale around Christmas.
Regarding ST-3
Yes, there has been much speculation about ST-3, and as many have correctly guessed, ST-3 will be tuned by combining the strengths of both ST-1 and ST-2. However, this doesn't necessarily mean it will be superior to ST-1 or ST-2 individually. Instead, ST-3 aims to be a more comprehensive and versatile brush within the Super Fiber series, designed to adapt to the needs of all user groups. It will be an all-rounder in terms of overall performance.
ST-3 is currently in the development phase, and progress is expected to be rapid. We plan to begin internal testing in December, with a global review program scheduled to start in early 2026.
