Team Introduction
It is a pleasure to introduce the master artisans of OUMO. By understanding this team, I hope you will gain deeper insight into OUMO's history and evolution. — Jackie
Master Carry
Carry is the soul and founder of OUMO. He is arguably the world's most knowledgeable expert in badger hair today, and his unparalleled expertise in this field laid the foundation for the OUMO brand. He is primarily responsible for product design and leading craftsmanship innovation.
Carry has overseen all craft and production processes, making him the only "Grand Slam" master at OUMO, proficient in all current techniques and the innovator of many new technologies, such as the development of the latest 'Glaze' and 'Foil Gilding' techniques.
Driven by a passion for innovation, Carry incorporates abundant Chinese elements into product development and creative design. In the early days, nearly all OUMO products were handmade by him. His focus has now shifted to design creativity, craft innovation, and CNC machining. Early brush knots like M-3/4, T-1/2/3, E-1/2, and the "Origin" series were personally tuned and crafted by Carry.
As the artisan team grew and gained experience, OUMO adopted a more specialized division of labor. Carry now rarely involves himself directly in production, with the exception of the Exceed series and new collections, which he still leads and crafts. In recent years, he has dedicated significant effort to CNC and precision engraving technology, continually exploring ways to blend modern advanced equipment with traditional handcrafting.
It is also worth noting that Carry is the founder of two other companies, which has somewhat reduced his focus on OUMO in recent years.
Master Wang
Wang joined OUMO in 2018 as one of its founding members. He is highly skilled in lathe work and polishing and has participated in or led numerous technical innovations and breakthroughs.
Wang pioneered the application of lacquer art and innovative fluid art techniques. He has played a critical role in every phase of OUMO’s development, and his early involvement was a key reason Carry felt confident in establishing the OUMO brand.
Wang is also the core of the artisan department, stepping in to lead the team when Carry is occupied. In the production process, he focuses on product polishing and complex shape refinements, while continuously innovating new processing techniques.
Master Xing
Xing joined OUMO in 2021 and is now one of the four master artisans. He is mainly responsible for polishing and producing the Liuli (colored glaze) series handles, while also assisting the team in tackling technical challenges.
Another important role Xing plays is supporting the production and craft integration for the Arno brand, introducing some of OUMO’s techniques into the Arno product line.
Master Zihan
Zihan is remarkably young, just 28 years old, and joined OUMO four years ago. He has grown alongside OUMO and now specializes in lathe processing. He has extensive experience working with resin, wood, stone, ebonite, and metal—mastering them all with ease. Most handles are crafted by his hands.
Zihan also has a keen eye for color and is responsible for developing OUMO’s solid color series. Some fans have even expressed praise and gratitude for his work! He has recently taken on an important role in the Urkunet razor department but continues to contribute to OUMO product manufacturing.
Master Zhang
Zhang is OUMO’s knot master and a behind-the-scenes expert. He is responsible for sorting and classifying badger hair, bleaching, and dyeing, and has over ten years of knot-tying experience.
He personally crafts special series such as the Tyrant, Emperor, Qilin, and Origin, and is one of the key producers of these collections. Together, Carry and Zhang established OUMO’s standardized process for refined knot treatment, elevating the product quality to a premium level.
These masters are the bedrock of OUMO. OUMO has always focused on developing new technologies, creative ideas, and designs as its core value, while consistently pushing itself with the heart of an artisan.
In our lifetime, OUMO will march towards becoming a "legend." All of us at OUMO are fully prepared to join Carry in achieving this long-cherished aspiration!
