After three years of meticulous consideration and planning, we are excited to announce the upcoming launch of our second major series of shaving handles- the Dynasty Series. This new collection follows our Exceed series and is set to bring a fresh and captivating experience to the market.
You may wonder what makes this series so special yet challenging. Well, our intention is to infuse the essence of ancient Chinese dynasties into the design of these handles. It's no easy feat as it requires us to carefully extract and transform the rich cultural symbols from various dynasties into tangible design elements.
In ancient China, there were numerous periods that seemingly shared quite similar cultural traits on the surface, making it rather challenging to distinguish and extract unique cultural symbols for our designs. For instance, during the Spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, despite their own historical significance and a multitude of events, the cultural elements had many overlaps. The same went for the Eastern and Western Han dynasties, where the cultural imprints were so alike that it was no easy task to single out distinct symbols.
The Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period was also characterized by a certain homogeneity in cultural manifestations. And when it came to the Wei, Jin, and Northern and Southern Dynasties, the cultural ambience across these periods was intertwined to an extent that differentiating specific cultural symbols became a tough job.
Even for the Sui and Tang dynasties, which were renowned for their prosperity and cultural flourishing, and the Northern and Southern Song dynasties, there were commonalities in cultural aspects that made it difficult for us to precisely identify and extract those symbols that could truly set them apart for our design inspiration. All in all, delving into these periods to find clear and unique cultural symbols for our designs has been a personal and professional challenge for us.
Particularly, dynasties like the Xia, Shang, and Zhou pose difficulties due to the scarcity of unearthed artifacts. This scarcity makes it rather challenging to identify and then translate their representative cultural symbols into our design language. And even when we do find some symbols, there could be hurdles in adapting them to modern design aesthetics.
Our journey into the design of the Dynasty Series begins with the Spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, two eras that are like shining stars in the long history of China.
The Spring and Autumn period was a time of remarkable cultural prosperity. It witnessed the flourishing of the Hundred Schools of Thought, an intellectual enlightenment movement that had a profound and lasting impact on the nation's cultural landscape. In our design inspired by this period, we delicately incorporated elements reminiscent of ancient ceramics. Just as ceramics have an understated elegance and a touch of refinement, our design for this era aims to capture that same subdued yet charming essence. The overall look is like a gentle whisper from the past, carrying the grace and wisdom of that historical epoch.
When it comes to the Warring States period, it was a time filled with the clashing of forces and the forging of history through numerous battles. To reflect this vibrant and dynamic era in our design, we focused on expressing elements related to warfare. Inspired by the ancient halberds that were symbols of power and combat during that time, we adopted a design with more angular lines. It gives a sense of strength and determination, yet still maintains a certain restraint, much like the way ancient Chinese warfare had its own codes and balances. This design choice not only pays homage to the era but also leaves room for future designs inspired by other dynasties.
On a broader design level, the entire Dynasty Series features splicing techniques. These techniques give the handles of the handles an antique charm, as if they have been passed down through the ages.
The series will debut with two distinct handle designs, inspired by the Spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period respectively. For these inaugural models, we have spared no effort in selecting more premium materials and applying more sophisticated finishing techniques to ensure the highest quality.
We sincerely hope that you, our friends from around the world, will look forward to the release of this Dynasty Series with as much anticipation as we have in creating it.
For me, this series is not just a product line but a realization of a long-held dream - to present the profound and beautiful ancient Chinese culture in a new and accessible form to a global customers.
Thank you for taking the time to read about our upcoming collection.
