“ST-3 SHD — Softer. Easier splay. Better flow.

The SHD is the soft-oriented iteration of the ST-3, recalibrated from the EX in both density and knot-setting.

Three months after the EX launch, we went back to the bench. The SHD lowers knot density by 10–15% across all sizes, and replaces the fully locked set with a moderately relaxed one — allowing the knot to bloom more naturally.

The ST-3's signature crisp backbone is fully retained. On top of it, the tips feel noticeably softer, the knot splays wider under pressure, and soap, water and air integrate more readily — giving the brush better flow on the face.

In fairness: the gain in splay is incremental, not transformative. The ceiling is set by the ST-3 fiber itself, and the SHD is the softest configuration achievable within that boundary. A fundamental step-change in flow will arrive with the ST-4, now in development.”
